Abstract EN

The importance of the study lies in the state that it is necessary for the people who are responsible for the practical and educational process to have the knowledge of the volleyball kinematic aspects of blocking for position 2 and 4 of the national team volleyball players, this knowledge is gained by observing and analyzing the players’ movement during blocking.

The issue that the study dealt with is the lack of focus by the responsible individuals on the artistic performance variables of blocking and not relying on the mechanical analysis of the artistic performance of volleyball skills according to the players’ specialties and playing positions during the match.

The study aimed to identify some of the kinematic variables of and the differences between them that are related to the approach of blocking skill for position 2 and 4 of the national volleyball team hitters.

The researcher used the descriptive approach in the comparative scientific method.

The sample consisted of the Iraqi national volleyball team hitters.

The researcher displayed the method of filming, kinetic analysis and statistical processing to obtain the results and discussing them.

The researcher found some differences of statistical significance between the player’s movement during blocking at position 2 and 4 in the following variables (knee joint angle at the maximum bending moment before jumping, hip joint angle at the maximum bending moment before jumping and approach steps velocity).

The researcher recommended that it is necessary to use the kinetic analysis since it is the precise indicator of the development level in the performance periodically during all the preparation stages to reach a developed level in the performance for all skills.
