Abstract EN

Treatment of advanced stage of hallux rigidus is still controversial in the literature especially nowadays, where active people are less willing to have their joint fused for life.

We present here our results of metatatarsophalyngeal (MTP) joint resurfacing, using the HemiCapâ implant, in 21 cases with a mean follow-up of 6 years as a new alternative of treatment of grade 3 and 4 hallux rigidus.

Results at follow-up are promising with good clinical and radiological outcome.
