Of twenty-five insectivorous bats examined, three bats were found infected with T.

(S) vespertilionis with an average infection rate of 8.5%.

Also, eleven bats (48 %) were infested by ticks Ixodida sp.

Most stages of T.

(S.) vespertilionis in the blood were trypomastigote stages, at the same time spheromastigots, epimastigote and amastigotes stages with two shapes slender and broad.

Small size and peculiar morphological features of the blood stream trypomastigotes, the more remarkable one being the large round kinetoplast.
