Abstract AR
Abstract EN
The present study was carried out to investigate the effect of addition of the probiotic ; Bifidobacterium animalis to the Oreochromis niloticus diet.
One hundred twenty O.niloticus weighing 40-45 gm were divided into 3 equal groups.
Groups 1&2, were fed on diet containing 1&2g B.
animalis / Kg food for 45 days, respectively.
While group 3 was a control.
Weight gain, ADG and SGR % were calculated, blood samples (with and without anticoagulant) were taken and immune responses and liver functions were detected.
The results show that the use of B.
animalis as a food-additive may enhance the growth performance and immune functions of O.
niloticus.
