قدرة الطحلب الأخضر المزرق Chroococcus limneticus Lemmermann على التراكم الحيوي لبعض العناصر الثقيلة و تأثيرها على أشكال الخلايا و محتوياتها

The present study was condeced to know the ability of blue green algae Chroococcus limneticus to accumulate some heavy elements such as copper, lead, cadmium and nickel in its cells after exposure to these elements for 14 days.and noticed the changes that the algae suffered as a result of its development in circles containing different concentrations of these heavy elements (5,10,15,20) mg / L separately using the scanning electron microscopy technique.

The results were showing that C.

limneticus was able to accumulate these elements.

The nickel element was the most accumulating element followed by copper, lead and cadmium.

The concentration amount (0.57, 0.12, 0.05 and 0.02) percent of dry weight of all element respectively, the cadmium was the most harmful effect to the shape of the cell and its contents followed by the nickel element, while the effect of copper and lead was less severe when added separate.
