Abstract EN

The intertextuality, as a modern theory, has taken a great place in Western and Arab literary criticism studies.

It became a necessary mechanism that cannot be ignored with in any literary discourse, because literary works of writers are based on their intellectual heritage derived from different sources such as Quran, Hadith, poetry, prose and other sources.

El-Tayeb Saleh, a Sudanese writer, is among those writers who indulged in their intellectual heritage.

The intertextuality in his literature carries a clear dimension of the literary cultural, religious and social degree of saturation.

This study dealt with his book “Fi Rehab Al-Janadriya & Assilah”, which include many articles reflecting the literary and cultural activity in the Al-Janadriya festivals in Saudi Arabia and Assilah International Festival in the Kingdom of Morocco.

El-Tayeb Saleh's literature is a rich heritage full of beauty, thought and culture that allow us to compare their intertextuality.

Accordingly, this study was based on an introductory covering the concept of intertextuality, and its manifestations in the Al-Janadriya and Assilah.

Then, it moved further to deal with the literary and comparative relations and forms; homely and religious compatibility.

Lastly, the study concluded with the most important findings of the research, and then sources and references
