Malaysia is one of the most innovative and successful economy in Southeast Asia and aims to become a high income country by 2020IT has pursued a comparatively equitable development path Free trade zones (FTZ)were one of the best choice and strategies adopted to fulfil the reforms and attract foreign firms and foreign direct investments.

This paper aims to illustrate the intensive competition between states on creating free zones because of their great impact on the country growth and as a mean of integration in the global economy.

The second objective is to draw the Malaysian Authorities attention to invest heavily in free zones as modem form of economic diversification
