Abstract EN

This paper deals with the concept of interpretive readings )qira’et( as defined by Imam Al-Nahhas and the kinds of readings he described, together with examples taken from his books classified under the category Qur’anic Sciences.

The study introduces Al-Nahhas and showcases his efforts in writing on Qur’anic sciences, in addition to showing the effects of the latter’s concept of interpretive readings on subsequent exegetes.

Besides, the paper compares Al-Nahhas’s special concept with those offered by the scholars of Qur’anic exegesis regarding interpretive reading.

This research aims at revealing the special meaning of interpretive reading as defined by Al-Nahhas in comparison with its general definition by scholars.

Its importance lies in revealing the way Al-Nahhas had described this type of readings.
