The financial system is the backbone of the economy, where the highly developed financial system facilitates economic development, leading to increased national income and standard of living.
This study aims at reading the Indian experience of reforming the financial system as one of the emerging economies that underwent a major transformation during the 1990s.
The paper concluded that India's relative success in developing the structure of the financial system, with some deficiencies to be addressed.
