Arabic Abstract

الغرض من الدراسة مع التوسع السريع في قطاع الإنشاءات إزدات الحاجة لممارسات الاستدامة.

يُساهم قطاع الإنشاءات بشكل كبير في الاستدامة لدوره في النهوض بالتنمية والاحتياجات الاقتصادية و الاجتماعية.

و مع ذلك، فإن له تأثيرات سلبية على الاستدامة تحقيق التوازن بين البيئة و الاقتصاد و المجتمع يشكل تحديا في قطاع الإنشاءات، و عليه يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحديد الكفاءات القيادية التي تعزز قدرات القائد في قطاع الإنشاءات على مواجهة تحديات الاستدامة.

منهجية البحث : تم اتباع منهج بحث كمي في هذه الدراسة.

و قد تم جمع البيانات المطلوبة باستخدام استبانة تم تصميمها بالرجوع إلى الأعمال العلمية السابقة ذات الصلة تم جمع 149 نسخة من الاستبيان تصلح للتحيل من المهندسين الاستشاريين و مهندسي شركات المقاولات درجة ( أ ) أو ( ب ) بمعدل استجابة 90.30٪.

تم تحليل البيانات التي تم جمعها كميا باستخدام برنامج SPSS.

النتائج : تم تحديد ( 70 ) سمة لقائد الإستدامة في قطاع الإنشاءات ( 22 ) سمة تتعلق بالصفات ( 26 ) سمة تتعلق بالمعارف، و ( 22 ) سمة تتعلق بالمهارات أظهرت الدراسة أن زيادة مستوى هذه العوامل لدى القائد، تزداد من فعاليته في تطبيق الاستدامة.

أهم صفة فكرية و إدراكية هي الإبداع ؛ الصفة العاطفية و السلوكية الأكثر أهمية هي الأخلاق والنزاهة ؛ الصفة التفاعلية الأكثر أهمية هي التمكين.

إدارة الموارد هي أكثر المعارف أهمية القدرة على توليد البدائل هي أهم المهارات الإدراكية والشخصية؛ القدرة على استخدام الموارد البشرية والمادية بكفاءة هي أهم مهارة إدارية وعملية ؛ القدرة على زيادة الوعي وإقناع المدراء الأعلى سلطة بـ بتبني ممارسات الاستدامة في البناء هي أهم مهارات التعامل مع الآخرين.

الإسهام العلمي : قد يساعد هذا البحث القادة في قطاع الإنشاءات على تغيير أسلوبهم القيادي ليكونوا قادة أكثر فاعلية في تطبيق الاستدامة.

و یسد هذا البحث الفجوة الموجودة في الدرسات السابقة و المتمثلة بعدم دراسة العلاقة بين القيادة و الاستدامة في قطاع الإنشاءات.

و يقدم هذا البحث بعض التوصيات للدرسات المستقبلية ذات الصلة.

English Abstract

Purpose : The construction industry is expanding and so are the demands for sustainability practices.

The industry contributes significantly to sustainability for its role in advancing development, economic and social needs.

However, it also has negative impacts on sustainability.

Achieving balance between environment, economy and society in construction is a challenge.

This research attempts to identify leadership competencies that enhance the construction leader capabilities to face the sustainability challenge.

Methodology and research approach: A quantitative research approach has been selected to investigate sustainable leadership competencies.

The research employs a questionnaire survey technique for quantitative measurements.

The investigated factors are derived deductively from literature review.

Out of 165 copies, 149 were satisfactorily collected from consulting and Grade A or B contracting engineers with a response rate of 90.30%.

The collected data are analyzed quantitatively using SPSS version 22.

Findings : This research identifies (70) competency factors of sustainable leadership in Construction : (22) attribute factors, (26) knowledge factors, and (22) skill factors.

As the level of these factors increases in leaders, the sustainability effectiveness is increased.

The most significant intellectual and cognitive attribute is creativity; the most significant emotional and behavioral attribute is having ethics and integrity; the most significant interpersonal attribute is empowerment.

Resource management is the most significant knowledge factor.

Ability to generate alternatives is the most significant cognitive and intrapersonal skill; ability to use human and material resources efficiently is the most significant managerial and process skill; ability to increase awareness and persuade top managers to adopt sustainability practices in construction is the most significant interpersonal skill.

Originality : This research could help construction leaders to shape their leadership style to be effective sustainability leaders.

The study bridges the gap in literature on the link between leadership and sustainability and provide recommendations for future studies.
