Abstract EN

This study aims to diversify the funding sources at King Saud University by applying Oxford University's experience.

This study uses the analytical descriptive approach and descriptive survey.

A questionnaire was distributed to the study population members, 28 administrative employees from funding departments at King Saud University.

The results are as follows: 1- King Saud University's funding relies mainly on the government support beside community partnership, research chairs, endowment projects, etc.

2- Oxford University' funding relies on external researches from research councils, student fees, Oxford printing, research marketing, etc.

3- The main obstacles of diversifying the sources of education funding at King Saud University compared to Oxford are the absence of governmental encouragement for private and educational sectors' cooperation and the lack of private sector investments in education.

4- The experience of Oxford University can offer new fund alternatives to King Saud University by expanding foreign students, establishing funds to help researchers transform outstanding research into commercial businesses and projects, and increasing the provision of educational and advisory services to various community institutions.

The study is concluded with recommendations that emphasize on the necessity of diversifying funding sources at King Saud University and overcoming the obstacles
