Abstract EN

This analysis was conducted to reveal the artistic effectiveness devoted by the ironic carnivals symbol in the service of the poetic character of the novel ”Memories of the Flesh” following Bakhtin’s perspective.

The analytical effort was focused on reading an academic critical model ,and striving to shed light on its properties and the strategy according to which it operates .

Thus, the analysis methodology was set up on tracking language underpinnings that have constituted the ironic dialogic system of the novel , taking advantage from the poetic effect present in it ,by tracking the relationship between the fictional language and its social contexts loaded with speakers intentions .

To achieve this scientific goal, we have examined three artistic trends that have formed the structure of carnival symbols according to the dialogic core /content namely the carnival discourse, the violation of customary rules, and the relations based on equivalent opposites.
