Abstract EN

This study is about voice off in audiovisual translation in tourist attraction, we chose « The audiovisual touristic guidebook of Annaba ».

The problem of the study focused on the characteristics of the voice-off and on the identity of the commentator.

Reason why, we adopted an analytical descriptive approach through a comparison between the original French and its Arabic version.

We came to the conclusion that the arabic version is a free voice-off commentary that permitted the addition of multiple linguistic units to enhance the tourist atrraction in accordance with the principles of Skopos and the interpretative theory.

We came to a main result concerning the identity of the commentator who revealed to be a specialist in tourism rather than in translation, because of the mutiplicity of translation errors in particular « omission » which occured under the form of « implicitation » in many passages.

Therefore, in the conclusion of the study we gave a number of proposals that will overcome the difficulties faced by the translator commentator on tourist documentaries.
