Abstract EN

Inflation is always concerned as an economic phenomenon that causes negative effects on the economies of countries, that is why this study is based on a traditional and contomporein theoretical analysis that justify inflation with quantitative and / or qualitative variables.

Our work proposes to analyze if the factors commonly reported in the literature would be as explanatory of inflation in Algeria.

Using a VAR (Autoregressive Vectorial) model estimated on annual data from 1970 to 2014, we concluded that inflation is positively related to imports, which explains the inadequacy of domestic production.
