Abstract EN
This paper presents the 2009 Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) for Algeria, which was assembled as part of a project aimed at analyzing some characteristics of the Algerian economy from the social accounting matrix.
The SAM disaggregates the production activities, labour and households accounts, and gives us the possibility to engage in a detailed analysis of the productive structure of the economy, as well as of the income distribution channels.
The paper describes both, the macroeconomic and microeconomic SAMs, paying special attention to data sources, and to the analysis that which deal the Algerian productive system and its economic relations with the rest of the world.
The method used in this analysis is based on the input-output model and Leontief multipliers.
