Abstract EN

The Obligation to ensure the conformity of products in Algerian legislation is based on a legal basis that can be derived from the general principles of civil law and consumer protection provisions, in aim to achieve one goal which is the adequate consumer protection.

However, the provisions of civil code are deficient.

In fact, a physical or financial harm is caused by fraud in the sale of goods in term of their : nature, intrinsic qualities, composition and the proportion of their constituents ; or their appearance without a source of production.

Therefore, it was necessary to establish special conditions for the product before and after presenting it to market by Consumer Protection law, and between the conformity control procedures and the persons assigned to it, for domestic or imported products.
