Abstract EN

This research focuses on the valid and reliable Isra'iliyyat (narratives of Jews or Israelites) including the reasons that made Muslims include them in Tafseer books, define their types and the validity of each type according to Shari’ah law.

The research has reached to the following findings: The Isra'iliyyat according to Shar’iah law is divided into three types: 1.Compatible with Shar’iah law; we accept it.

2.Incompatible with Shar’iah law, we refuse it.

3.Neutral; we do more research.

The research has adopted modern, scientific and critical method in line with the standards of discrediting and endorsement science.

In addition, the research sheds the light on the role played by Jews and Christians, who embraced Islam, in adopting the narratives of the Israelites.

It also shows the efforts of Muslim scholars in refining the Tafseer books and removing false narratives.

The research illustrates that Tafseer books include very narrow range of Christian narratives which do not have that negative impact in comparison to the narratives of Jews, as most of Christian narratives are about ethics, sermons and heart softening.

The research has concluded that Tafseer books have a lot of Isra'iliyyat that need to be objectively considered and criticized based on Hadeeth methods and standards.
