Abstract EN

This Study deals with paratext in the novel of «Cousin K» by the novelist Yasmina Khadra since this novel is full of paratext.

It is variant ; from its cover both the front and the back one to the main title, the writer’s name, publisher’s word, publication house, and the cover’s color, in addition to the title at its linguistic and semantic levels.

All the above mentioned elements have been carefully selected by the novelist to attenuate the narrative and in order to thrill the reader and motivate him to follow the events and the actions.

Thus, to create an interactive relationship between the publisher and the author, the narrative text and the reader.
