Abstract EN

The purpose of the present research would be to better understand the basic principles for an efficient bank control, published by Basel Committee of banking supervision, in its new version 2012, including its proposals as part of the reforms agreed by the Committee based on the lessons learned from the global financial crisis 2008 and other important regulatory advances occurred since the last revision of the basic principles in 2006.

It also aims to highlight what was previously established by bank regulators in Algeria, in order to comply with these principles, agreed by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank through the Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) in order to assess the effectiveness of the systems and supervisory practices in different countries.

Given that compliance with the agreed principles and reforms would help to improve the security and stability of the banking system, and thus, the stability of the financial sector.
