This article aims to study and evaluate the implications of the financial liberalization policy on the development of the financial and banking sector performance of the gulf cooperation council countries (GCC), which includes Saudi Arabia, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and the Kingdom of Bahrain, by evaluating a number of financial indicators For the time period from 1991 to 2015, where the study initially addressed the path of these countries in the financial liberalization adopted since the beginning of the nineties of the last century, with the aim of establishing a sophisticated financial system that responds to international standards in order to qualify the Gulf financial and banking sectors to be in the category, The Gulf region has witnessed tremendous developments since the beginning of the reforms.

This is evidenced by the continuous improvement in the indicators of financial development adopted, but this development has been to varying degrees from one country to another.
