Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigate the effect of using Social Learning Networks on modifying the alternative biological concepts among the ninth grade students .

The study sample consisted of seventy two female students and were divided into two groups equally : experimental and control group.

was appointed bifurcated randomly from Second University Schools.

The study was implemented during the second semester of the academic year 2017/2018.

For data collection, a Diagnostic test for the alternative conceptions of biological concepts, were designed.

The validity and reliability of the instrument were verified by the suitable educational and statistical methods.

The study concluded that there are many alternative biological concepts, and the prevalence of some of them by as much as in some of the key concepts, such as respiration (96%), circulation (93%), digestion (70%) and excretion (96%) .Result showed that there were a significant difference found among students of the experimental group on modifying alternative biological concepts.

The study recommended using Learning Networks in teaching biology throughout the basic educational stage and all stages.
