This study aimed at diagnosing the awareness of pre-service physical education teachers of using mathematical information in teaching the content of physical education curricula in the general education stages.
In order to achieve the objective of the study, the analytical descriptive method was used.
Three study tools were applied to the diagnostic sample of pre-service physical education teachers.
The results of the study showed that the sample of the diagnostic study is not familiar with all the mathematical information included in the content of physical education curricula in the general education stages, necessary to teach that content.
The sample members are also not aware of using this mathematical information in teaching that content.
The study also presented a proposed scenario for treating the lack of awareness of pre-service physical education teachers of using mathematical information in teaching the content of physical education curricula in the general education stages in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In light of the results of the study, some recommendations were presented, as follows: - Including the mathematical information necessary to teach the content of physical education in programs to prepare teachers of physical education before service and enable them to use this information in teaching.
- Holding high-level training courses for in-service teachers on how to use mathematics in teaching.
The researcher suggested future research studies on topics, such as: - Effectiveness of teaching the content of physical education curricula using mathematical information on the achievement in physical education among learners in general learning stages.
- The extent to which teachers of different disciplines are aware of using mathematical information in teaching the content of their specializations’ curricula.
