English Abstract

This study was conducted in the laboratories of the Department of Biology /Faculty of Education for Girls / University of Kufa for the academic year 2017/2018 to know the effect of bio health ( salicylic acid) and sodium chloride salt) in some growth indicators of( EPA1, Anber 33 and Abasia) varieties of rice plant Oryza sativa L.

The design of experiment was (R.C.B.D) Randomized Complete Block Design with four replicates, The study included two factors: the first treatment of seed activation: (T1 = unsoaked dry seeds ), (T2 = seeds soaked only with water ), (T3 = bio health 20 mg / L), T4 = (bio health 60 mg / L),( T5 = bio health 80 mg / L), (T6= Sodium chloride salt 10 mg / L), (T7 = Sodium chloride salt 200 mg / L), (T8= Salicylic acid 50 mg / L), (T9 = Salicylic acid 75 mg / L), (T10 = Salicylic acid 100 mg / L).

The second factor is rice varieties ( EPA1, Anber 33 and Abasia).

The results showed that the treatment of seeds of various rice varieties with bio health and salicylic acid, as well as the treatment of seeds with sodium chloride salt led to significant superiority in some growth indicators for seedlings of different varieties of rice plant, especially the germination speed rates, the treatments( T3, T7 and T9 )were characterized by giving them the germination rates (90.83, 90.67 and 83%) respectively and a highest standard laboratory germination percentage were (96.50, 96.33, 95.67), respectively, while T1 treatment was distinguished by giving the lowest values for the germination speed indicators and the standard laboratory germination percentage which reached (21.67 and 76.50) respectively.T3 treatment gave the highest average gesture strength in the standard laboratory germination ratio (2283), while the comparative treatment T1 treatment gave the lowest average (1162).

According to the second factor ,the varities, EPA1 gave a highest average of the the germination speed and the standard laboratory germination percentage (53.52 and 85.95)%, respectively, and the results showed a significant effect of the interaction between seed stimulation factors (biohealth, salicylic acid and sodium chloride salt) and varieties in most studied traits.

We conclude from this study that the treatment of seeds of different varieties with biohealth salicylic acid and sodium chloride salt resulted in a significant increase in the standard laboratory germination percentage of all cultivars and thus improved seedling growth characteristics.
