English Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the success factors of the adoption of mobile banking in the Gaza Strip.

Specifically, this study explores the factors (perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived risk, trust, perceived cost, need for personal interaction, credibility, compatibility with lifestyle and quality of Internet connection) that affect the adoption of mobile banking in Gaza Strip.

The research followed the descriptive approach.

The convenience sampling was used and a self-administered questionnaire was distributed to a sample consisted of 384 mobile banking users in Gaza City.

A total of 345 usable questionnaires were collected and then analyzed using SPSS application.

The results showed that most respondents are youth (70.5%) and educated (69%), the majority of them were males (71%), and working in private sector (43.8%) and have a good background of IT (54.2%).

The results also revealed that all tested factors are important factors that affect the adoption of mobile banking, while most of the respondents 74%, 75% agreed the importance of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use as the factors effecting the adoption of mobile banking.

The study also found that the increase of education level, income level and background of IT increases the customers’ interest in mobile banking.

The study recommends that the banks should add more services to be accomplished through their applications.

Banks also should consider the ease of use and usefulness in consideration when they design their applications.

The institutions concerned should take actions to aware customers about the risks related to the usage of mobile banking
