English Abstract

This research aims at shedding light on strategic human resource competencies and its impact on adopting Green human resource management practices in Palestinian Food Industries in the Gaza Strip.

In addition, it aims at studying the Green HRM practices that can be incorporated for building a green workplace in Palestinian Food Industries.

Moreover, it shows the problems and obstacles that prevent human resource departments from adopting green practices in Food Industries.

To conduct this research, the descriptive analytical approach was adopted.

In addition, a questionnaire was designed to collect data from employees who work as professionals in Palestinian Food Industries in the Gaza Strip.

The researcher depends on a comprehensive survey for the questionnaire distributed.

It was distributed for 140 employees, and 130 were retrieved out of them with response rate of 92.9%.

After analyzing the collected data, the research concluded that the impact of strategic human resource competencies on the adoption of green HRM practices is positive in the sampled Palestinian Food Industries.

Furthermore, the professionals lack of strong, and effective strategic competencies for influence other employees in Palestinian Food Industries.

Finally, the research recommended that professionals need to be more effective, possess strategic competencies to spread green culture, and to be more effective toward the environment.

Moreover, the research recommended that the professionals need to be HR innovator, and integrator for innovate solution to solve the existed environmental problems.

In addition, the environmental performance needs to be measured periodically to reward their employees for their employees on their eco - friendly efforts toward the environment.
