Abstract EN

This study aims to investigate the impact of exchange rate changes on economic growth in Algeria, for this purpose, we used the autoregressive distributed lags (ARDL) model by relying on annual time series data covering the period from 1980 to 2016.

The Bounds test indicated of cointegration relationship between the study variables ( real gross domestic product, real exchange rate, money supply, inflation rates, oil price), the empirical results also revealed a positive and significant effect of the real exchange rate on economic growth in the short-run and long-run, In addition to the positive and significant impact of both money supply and oil prices, and this effect is stronger in the long-run, there was also a negative and significant effect of inflation on economic growth, but this effect is weak both in the short and long run
