Abstract EN

The importance of the study of mortality in Muthanna Governorate comes from the plenty amount of data and facts about the deceased people in terms of temporal and geographical, which included all the sub-administrative units in Muthanna Governorate.

And the detection of factors and variables that affect the death on the one hand and are affected among them.

The study relied on demonstratives description and quantitative methods to illustrate the geographical variance between variables.

Based on mathematical statistical analysis, the results of the study show a strong correlation (Pearson’s and coefficient) between most of the variables under examination in this study, as those variables could have negative or positive effect on the dependent (death volume).

The data collected from local, national and international institutions and organizations that include: the death records in the Muthanna Health Department, hospitals, affiliated centers, the Department of Forensic Medicine, the Ministry of Health and its dependencies, the Central Statistical Organization and its affiliates, as well as data published by international organizations, associations and bodies concerned with bio-statistics and deaths.

The most important conclusions of the research are that there is a strong relationship between humidity and mortality is because of the relationship of many respiratory diseases with humidity and rainfall, as well as deaths of accidents.

Moreover, we should give a close attention to the level of per capita income and the provision of the level of the poor and health care for family members, especially those that have mortality rates High compared to other administrative units, and follow up the preparation of accident deaths on a daily basis in all hospitals and to identify the real causes of these deaths in order to minimize them as much as possible.
