This article aims to highlight the history of the Algerian revolution and since its launch and until independence in 1962 has continued to flow.

Political authorities after having dominated the writing of history during several years are today facing an unofficial writing, that is generally opposed to the one we studied in our school programs.

This writing is adopted by journalists, writers and even actors of this revolution who wrote and published their war memoirs while revealing the secrets and the dark side of their struggle for independence.

Through this analytical and descriptive study, we tried to analyze the main axes of the national revolution as mentioned in the official speech and we made a description and a comparison with their treatment in the media.

The study reached a number of conclusions, such: the media writing provides a different reading of Algeria’s history and the political system based on political unilateralism contributed greatly to the restriction of such writings.
