Segmentation of images by using edges detection techniques

Abstract EN

Edge detection is one of the important techniques used for image segmentation.

Scientists and researchers suggested many techniques and algorithms which aim at separating or segmenting images into their main contents and finding meaningful alterations in that image, where this stage determines success or failure of analysis process.

The research presents seven techniques of image segmentation and are applied with threshold.

These techniques were compared by measuring the percentage of white and black color and measuring the structural content of the original image and resulting image.

The techniques were applied to gray level images.

Using (Matlab) to implement the work, It is a high performance language and easy to used, it can be used in many different scientific and engineering fields.
