Abstract EN

The research aimed at identifying training needs for art education teachers of the intermediate stage in Jahra Governorate form their point of views, and knowing the differences between the teachers' answers depending on the following variables: (years of experience, and scientific qualification).

The researcher adopted a descriptive analytical method, and the sample contained (65) art education teachers in the intermediate schools in Jahra Governorate.The researcher designed a questionnaire which consisted of 34 items distributed on three dimensions, and the most important results were: 1.

The results showed that the value of the overall average is(2.38) and it is located within the appreciation of the high, which indicates the presence of various training which education teachers of art need.

These needs vary to include planning of lessons and the academic side artistic specialist, educational and, finally, the skill part.

At the top of training needs came the second aspect of the academic educational needs (learning theories – effective teaching strategies – growth characteristics of students in the middle school- communication and treatment of students – and methods of modern evaluation).

There were statistically significant differences between the averages of teachers' responses on the research questionnaire due to the variable of qualification in favour of individuals who possessed less scientific qualification.
