Abstract EN
This study aims to test the existence of Export Led Growth hypothesis in Algeria, which is an oil exporting country, and its economy relies heavily on exporting hydrocarbons in order to fund the government budget.
This study conducted a co-integration analysis using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach in order to examine the Export Led Growth hypothesis in Algeria using annual data for the period 1970-2016.
The results support the validity of ELG hypothesis in Algeria in long and short runs.
This study recommends the government to focus more on the diversification of economy as a whole to enhance the economic growth with real foundation and therefore diversify exports and revenues
