The role of monetary policies in achieving the objectives of sustainable development in Algeria

The interest of many countries in achieving sustainable development has increased over the past two decades.

This concern is reflected in the development of strategies and development plans aimed at achieving integration between social development, economic growth and environmental protection.

In this study, we will examine the role of monetary policy in achieving sustainable development by analyzing the impact of some monetary policy instruments such as the rate of re-discounting and the rate of exchange (a channel for reporting monetary policy) on the most important indicators of sustainable development, economical index (GDP per capita), social index (unemployment rate), environmental index (agricultural land) and, finally, a corporate index (number of Internet subscribers per million inhabitants).
