Abstract EN

Groundwater represents one of the most important sources for meteoric water especially in arid and semi-arid regions; recently, its importance has increased, this comes as a normal result for the increasing of population and the need for drinking water.

Agriculture and industrial expansions are also implemented.

Because groundwater as all the natural resources is subjected to depletion, it was important to study and estimate it’s type and quantity so that we can protect it from pollution and manage its consumption to keep it for the next generations.

This research aims at integrating the geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing techniques in studying the groundwater, through creating a model to determine the charging areas of the groundwater aquifers in the study area.

These modern and advanced techniques enabled to determine areas of higher charge than the other lower charge areas; this will be useful in determining the most suitable areas for wells of long-lasting water.
