The present paper aims to investigate the role of translation activities as a comprehensive tool for the acquisition of the technical English to enable learners to successfully complete their specialty courses.
First, an overview of the latest research into the implementation of translation activities in the ESP class will be provided.
Then, the methodological developments in this area will be explored by focusing mainly on translation activities types, purposes, benefits and factors to consider while preparing them.
Toward the end of the paper, a framework of research methodology for teaching technical vocabulary and technical writing will be presented.

Le présent article vise à étudier le rôle des exercices de traduction dans l‟enseignement de l‟anglais technique dans le but de faire acquérir aux apprenants des compétences langagières spécifiques leur permettant de suivre avec succès leurs cours de spécialité.
Cette recherche propose de concevoir, selon une démarche méthodologique de type exercices de traduction dans l‟anglais sur objectifs spécifiques, un matériel didactique pour l‟enseignement du vocabulaire et de la rédaction technique
