Origin of electrical power in Libya and its evolution with the application on Northwest Libya A study in the geography of energy The electric power evolution stages in north-west area in Libya This article discusses the electric power evolution stages in north-west area in Libya, which are a reflection of the general situation of Libyan economy; the historical evolution of electric power was divided into four stages as follows : Firstly: The first stages (pre-1970): The use of electricity in lighting Secondly: The second stages; (1970 - 1985) Expansion of electricity power stations establishment.

Thirdly: The third stages; (1986 - 2000): The grid system electricity establishment.

Fourthly :Fourth stages (2001 - 2010): Growing of the production of electric power.
