English Abstract

This study was conducted in the laboratories at the College of Agriculture/ University of Tikrit.

Three different soil types with varied gypsum content; 62, 134, and 241gm.

Kg-1 , 5 different types of saline water 0.00, 0.72, 1.67, 3.21, and 5.12ds m-1 , to evaluate potassium element behavior in adsorption processes and potassium release using kinetic equations.

The equations, that used were zero order, first order, diffusion equation, power function equation, and Elovich equation.

Results showed that the adsorption processes were affected by soil content of clay, organic matter, and gypsum (CaSO4.2H2O).

The kinetic release results showed the superiority of first order equation on the rest of equations.

The best coefficient statistical determination R2 , varied between 0.9831- 0.9896, for low gypsum soils, and R2 of 0.9697 – 0.988 for medium gypsum soils, and R2 of 0.9389 – 0.98 for high gypsum soils.

The lowest standard error SE ranged 9.34 – 11.45 for low gypsum soils, and the lowest SE ranged between 8.66 – 10.88 for medium gypsum soils and SE of 7.89 – 10.14 for high gypsum soils.
