This study deals with the training issue of teachers of French as a foreign language and its relation with the quality of performance on the act of teaching learning at primary school in an Algerian context, particularly in El-Oued region where a population of teachers is taken as a sample in this inquiry.
Findings show the necessity of thinking again of the teachers' training including initial training within the Algerian university: as for its objectives, goals, needs and expectations of trained teachers to upgrade the performance of teachinglearning act.

La présente étude traite de la question de la formation des enseignants de FLE et son rapport avec la qualité de leur rendement dans l’acte d’enseignement-apprentissage au cycle primaire dans le contexte algérien ; en particulier dans la wilaya d’El-Oued, origine de l’échantillon d’enseignants formant le public de notre enquête.
Il s’en avère nécessaire de repenser la formation des enseignants notamment la formation initiale assurée par l’université algérienne : quant à ses finalités, ses objectifs ainsi qu’aux besoins et attentes du public formé ; et ce, pour optimiser le rendement de l’acte d’enseignement-apprentissage.
