This study aimed at, investigating the effect of a .four-component * strategy ,on n developing EFL - vocabulary .acquisition and reading., comprehension of preparatory students.
Sixty students from second year -preparatory school students at Dondate preparatory.
School for Girls, _ Dakahlia Govemorate, were drawn randomly,to represent the study participants: a control group (N=30) and an experimental group (N=30) t * i' * - during the first term of the academic year 2017/2018.

Besides, the .students in the,experimental group joutperformed their peers, in the .control group, who received regular instruction, on the vocabulary , acquisition and reading comprehension post tests.
