Radicalism and the quest for identity in American literature

This research paper is principally intended to shed light on the role played by the American radical spirit as was expressed in American literature in shaping not only reality in the newly settled land but in building the identity of the American people as well.

The article is meant to demonstrate how the American men of letters sought to revolt against all what was traditional in order to participate in having a typically American literature ,culture and identity
