Abstract EN

This study aims to shed the light on the role that civil society in the (re)construction of the Arab state, which has suffered from many problems since its establishment at the political, economic and social levels.

Consequently, the Arab region has witnessed several social movement that has turned in many cases to political movements.

This study concludes that the civil society can be a party to the social contract, especially if it can absorb the traditional community structures and this to overcome the hegemonic relationship between the ruler and ruled in the Arab world.
