Because of the importance of conventional work in the Arabic linguistic thought, the ancient linguists concerned with terminology, because they are the keys to science and its basic focus on which it is bassed.

Therefore, we consider in this paper a part of this topic, the glossary of linguistic terms in the introduction of Ibn Khaldun through a study of the concepts and indications of several terms With a view to identifying the colloquial vision of the linguistic term and the the extenet to which it operates in the introduction.
