Abstract EN
This paper presents some reflections on the impact of the American pragmatist Dewey’s vision of society and the nature of the human being as a member of society.
It highlights how a pragmatist syllabus and teaching can be beneficial for the student of English as a foreign language and it develops some suggestions on how Education can prepare and shape a future citizen in a democratic society.
