Abstract EN

The present study aimed to identify the level of job satisfaction among kindergarten teachers from their viewpoints in the light of some variables.

The study made use of the descriptive method and administered a questionnaire consisting of five dimensions including (satisfaction with the nature and field of work - satisfaction with the work environment and the prevailing relationships - satisfaction with the system of salaries and bonuses - satisfaction with the system of safety and career promotion - satisfaction with the management system).

The study sample consisted of (856) kindergarten teachers, distributed according to the variables of governorate, qualification and years of experience.

The results of the study revealed that the total level of job satisfaction for kindergarten teachers was low, and the job satisfaction was low in all dimensions except the dimensions of work environment and the prevailing relationships and the management system dimension as the level of job satisfaction in such variables was average.

The results also indicated that there were no differences in the responses of the study sample attributed to the variables of the governorate.

However, there were differences due to the educational qualification variable and there were differences in the responses of the sample of the study attributed to the high experience variable.

The study recommended that the educational departments should study the reasons leading to low job satisfaction among teachers (males & females) and work to overcome such problems.

The study also recommended providing physical and morale incentives appropriate for the kindergarten teachers to increase their job satisfaction and increasing opportunities for interaction and positive communication among the elements of the educational system in kindergartens to enhance motivation and increase job satisfaction for them.

A need to hold continuous training courses for kindergarten teachers was also recommended to enable them to adapt to their work on the one hand and increase their professional performance on the other hand, which contributes to raise the level of job satisfaction to them.
