The study aimed to measure the effectiveness of the use of multiple intelligences strategy to improve academic achievement and skills of science among the second secondary grade students.
The study was applied in the academic year 2013- 2014 in the second semester in Alabassen school for females and Abdul Ghani Al-Bajigni for males.
The variables of the study are independent variables which are the strategy of multiple intelligences،sex and specialization (scientific and literary).
The dependent variables are the academic achievement and skills of science processes.
Tools of the study consisted of - an educational program in accordance with the strategy of multiple intelligences in a unit of the textbook of National Education.
- an achievement test to measure the skills of science processes.
The study reached the following results: 1- There were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) for the benefit of students in the experimental group in the post application of the academic achievement test and the skills of science processes.
2- There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of students in the experimental group according to the sex variable in favor of females in some of the processes of science skills (observation،description،classification،use of numbers،interpretation and generalization)،and in favor of males in the skill of variables control.
No observable differences were found between males and females in the skills of inference and prediction.
3-There were no statistically significant differences in the academic achievement test due to the variable of specialization (scientific and literary).
The study offered some suggestions ,the most important were : -The necessity of training teachers to use the strategy of multiple intelligences in teaching the subject.
- Generalizing the teacher guide to help him use methods which are based on the theory of multiple intelligences
