Abstract EN

The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between ways of thinking and their relation to self-efficacy in gifted students , and to identify the extent to which methods of thinking are common in these students, the effect of interaction between variables and to determine any differences in ways of thinking and self-efficacy which may be due to gender.

The sample consisted of (300) (202 male and 98female students) selected from schools of the gifted in governorate of Damascus.

Thinking ways scale , and self-efficacy scale were used and administered to the sample in the second semester of the academic year 2013/2014.

The findings revealed that: the ways of thinking which are more common in gifted students were as follows : the National way of thinking with percentage of 100% , international (88.9%), conservative (77.8%), liberal (66.7%), hierarchical(55.6%), monarchal(44.4%),judicial (33.3%) , and executive(22.2%).

The jurisprudential way of thinking was the last with percentage of (11.1%).

The findings also indicated that gifted students had high level of self-efficacy , as well as there was a significant relationship between both the executive way and the liberal way and self-efficacy, and there was no significant effect of the interaction between self-efficacy and gender on thinking way in gifted students.

The results revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in self-efficacy among gifted students due to gender.
