أثر برنامج إرشادي في خفض سلوك الانسحاب لدى الأطفال المعاقين سمعيا من إقليم جنوب الأردن

Abstract EN

The study aimed at identifying the efficiency of a counseling program in treating the withdrawal behavior among a sample of children with hearing disability in the south Jordan.

The final study sample consisted of (54) students with hearing disability randomly allocated into two groups: an experimental group (n=27) and a control group (n=27).

The study instrument consisted of: A) a measure for evaluating withdrawal behavior.

Reliability and validity coefficients were calculated for this instrument.

B) a behavioral counseling program for treating the withdrawal behavior among children with hearing disability.

The program was applied through (15) sessions over a period of two months.

The results of t-test have shown significant differences between the mean scores of withdrawal behavior of the experimental group and those of the control group following the implementation of the therapeutic program favoring the experimental group.

In addition the Mann-Whitney test results indicated no significant differences between the age groups (10 – less than 12 years) and (12 – less than 14 years) in their scores following the implementation of the counseling program, indicating that the program had the same effect on both age groups.
