Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the methods of teaching the Holy Quran in the intermediate schools and the difficulties pertaining to their application, and ways of developing them ; from teachers’ perspectives in the state of Kuwait in the light of two variables (years of experience and job title).

The Researcher used a questionnaire that was distributed randomly to a sample (n : 209).

Results indicated : 1 -The most widely used method for teaching Holy Quran is reading the Holy Quran verses carefully by the teacher and then correcting students’ reading.

2 -Teachers face difficulties in teaching the Holy Quran as of shortage of time to recite and correct the recitation, and lack of educational technological techniques that help in teaching the Holy Quran.

3 -Teachers suggested methods of developing the teaching of the Holy Quran, which are providing the teachers with training courses in the Holy Quran recitation of allocation of extra classes for the Holy Quran.

4 -There are no statistically significant differences between teachers’ responses according to years of experience.

5 -There are no statistically significant differences between teachers’ responses according to the job title.

Based on the findings of this study, the researcher came out with a set of recommendations and suggestions regarding the Islamic education teachers’ preparation programs and decision makers in the ministry of education.
