the research revealed that Sibawaih realized that the preposition min cannot be considered to have one central meaning which is the case with any Arabic preposition.
Sibawaih did actually identify some more meanings of min which have been also recognized by Ibn Jinni (died 392 Hijri).
Other grammarians think that min can only mean ibtidā’ alghāyah (beginning of the target).
Sibawaih also stated that it is possible for min to be considered as a noun when it has the meaning of tab‘īdh some of all.
