Translation is deemed a process that undergoes several extra-linguistic factors that may shape the translation process and final product as well.
Political pieces of news seem to be a relevant sample of translated texts affected by extra-linguistic factors such as ideology.
The present study aims at analyzing the effect exercised by ideology on the translation of political headlines.
It tends to take profit from the analytical tools offered by the critical discourse analysis (CDA) approach.
The corpus analyzed hereafter is group of political headlines tackling international issues; namely the Middle East.
