Abstract EN

The objective of this study is to shed light on the most important oral heritage in Algeria exactly in Metlili Chaanba area which situated in department of Ghardaia in the south of Algeria .The oral heritage considered a cornerstone of the public heritage in that society, and a great reference.

In addition it carries on effective role in rising people awareness and values, besides it preserves the cultural heritage and the nation’s identity.

This has thus become of great cultural and civilizational importance to States.

The most important results of this research are:The South of Algeria, is rich of various feature of public folklore, specially the oral one in Metlili Chaanba .

- Oral heritage in the area of Mtlili Chaanba is one of the most important means of knowing the nature and structure of the Chaanba society.

- The oral heritage of the Chaanba is an important cultural and literary resource for researchers to be preserved and codified for next generations.
